Corgi breeder in Arizona

Corgi puppies for sale
near Phoenix.

We are a small Corgi breeder in Casa Grande, Arizona, raising Pembroke Welsh Corgis in our family home between Phoenix and Tucson. From either city there is no flight to arrange: you drive down and take your puppy home the same morning. Each puppy is $850.

Drive times from Casa Grande

How far is Casa Grande
from you?

Casa Grande sits just off I-10, about an hour south of downtown Phoenix and a little over an hour north of Tucson, so for most of central Arizona collecting a puppy is a morning out.

Times are rounded and assume clear roads. Rush hour on I-10 through Tempe and Chandler can add half an hour, so we plan around it.

Collecting in person

How does pickup
in Casa Grande work?

Choose a puppy on the available puppies page and get in touch. A $300 holding deposit holds the puppy while you get ready and comes off the $850. Ready now? We simply agree a day.

Puppies go home at eight weeks, and we send the address and a time directly. On the day we go through the health records and the written contract with its one year health guarantee, answer your questions, and hand over food so dinner stays the same that first night.

The balance can be paid by Apple Pay or Zelle, and the full sequence is on our process page.

Collection day

What should you bring
on collection day?

The food, records and paperwork come from us. These four things make the drive home easier.

A crate or carrier

Small, belted in, with a towel in the bottom. A puppy loose on a lap is sweet for ten minutes and a hazard on the freeway.

A second adult

One drives, the other sits beside the crate, where a familiar hand settles most puppies within a few miles.

Paper towels and bags

Nerves and a full stomach often meet on a first car ride. Paper towels, a couple of bags and a spare towel cover it.

Water for the longer drives

Not needed from Chandler or Tucson. From Flagstaff, Prescott or Yuma, bring a bottle and a shallow bowl for one stop in the shade.

Arizona airport pickup

Can we meet at Phoenix
Sky Harbor?

Yes. Arizona airport pickup at Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) is $100, mainly for families who fly in to collect: we bring the puppy to the airport and the handover happens there. Families from Florida and Ohio have collected this way.

For families who live here, driving to Casa Grande is usually simpler and avoids the $100 charge. The options are on our delivery page.

Summer in Arizona

What does the summer
heat change?

Mostly the clock. From late May into September we book collections for the morning and steer people away from the afternoon.

Cool the car before the puppy gets in, and get gas on the way down, not the way back: a parked car in Arizona heats up within minutes, and a puppy should never be left in one.

Hot pavement is the one people forget. Carry the puppy from car to door, and before any walk hold the back of your hand on the sidewalk. If you cannot keep it there for a few seconds, it is too hot for paws.

July and August bring monsoon storms and the odd dust storm across I-10. If one is forecast for your collection day, we would rather move the time.

Settling in

What is the first week
like in the desert?

Plan the day around its cool ends: short trips outside first thing and after sunset, shade in the yard at midday, and fresh water wherever the puppy spends time. Gravel and artificial turf hold heat for hours, so check them too.

Fence off any pool or keep the puppy in sight outside: short legs and a steep pool edge are a bad combination.

Indoors, keep life small: a crate in the room where the family spends the evening, the food we sent home, and a few quiet days before visitors. Book your own vet early in the week and ask about local hazards such as desert toads in the monsoon. What comes home with the puppy is on our health and care page.
