A real Brooklyn trip
From Casa Grande
to Brooklyn.
Sardie welcomed a Copper Crest Pembroke in Brooklyn after a flight nanny carried the puppy from Phoenix in the cabin. The photo was taken on that trip home.
New York takes more planning than most routes. The airport, the time of day and the drive after landing all matter, so we settle them with each family before anything is booked.

How does a puppy
reach New York?
We are in Casa Grande, an hour's drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), and the nonstop from there to JFK, LaGuardia (LGA) or Newark (EWR) takes about four and three-quarter hours. Driving would take about thirty-six hours to New York City, so most city families choose the flight. Ground transport is still there for anyone who would rather skip the airport: USDA certified drivers take two to three days and send photo updates on the way.
If you are looking at Corgi puppies for sale in NYC, choose the airport by the drive home. JFK suits Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island. LaGuardia is usually quickest for Manhattan, the Bronx and Westchester. Newark is the easy choice for Staten Island and for families just over the river in New Jersey.
Traffic on the Van Wyck or the BQE can double the trip home, so where the schedule allows we aim for a landing outside rush hour. In winter a nor'easter can push the travel date back a day or two, and we will move it rather than fly a puppy into a storm.
If you were hoping for a Long Island Corgi breeder down the road, we are not that. JFK is a manageable drive for most of Nassau and western Suffolk, though, and the flight nanny brings your puppy all the way to it.
Upstate, Buffalo (BUF), Rochester (ROC) and Albany (ALB) are closer to home but usually involve a connection from Phoenix. For Corgi puppies for sale in Buffalo, NY, or anywhere near Rochester, Syracuse and Albany, we weigh a connecting flight into your local airport against a nonstop and a longer drive, and choose whichever keeps the puppy's travel day shortest.
The trip is quoted separately once you reserve a puppy, and it is never folded into the $850. See how flight nanny and ground transport trips work.
Settling in
Can a Corgi puppy settle
into a city apartment?
Yes, and plenty do. A Corgi needs walks, play and a little training every day far more than it needs a yard.
Stairs are the thing to plan around. Corgis have long backs and short legs, so carry your puppy up and down walk-up stairs while they are small, and use the elevator if your building has one. Ask your vet when the vaccine series will be finished before you visit a dog run; until then, a quiet spot near your building does the job.
Keep the food we send for the first week or two, put the crate where the household spends its evenings, and expect sirens and the rumble of the subway to be news to an Arizona puppy for a few days. It soon becomes background noise.
The vet exam, age appropriate vaccines, deworming and health records all travel with the puppy, along with a written one year health guarantee and our support by phone and email for the rest of their life. Read what goes home with each puppy.
The same planning works for the five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, the Hudson Valley, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo.
Next step
Ready to see who could
come to New York?
There is no waitlist and no list of future litters. Reserving a puppy takes a $300 holding deposit, which comes off the $850, and puppies go to whoever asks first. How a reservation works.
The drive is the hard part
Tell us your neighborhood
In New York the flight is rarely what needs planning. The drive out of the airport does, along with the odd winter storm, so tell us where you live and we will plan around both.
