Our puppies are raised in Casa Grande, Arizona, and fly up to Washington in under three hours. Every puppy is $850, with travel quoted separately once a puppy is reserved.
The honest answer
Why Washington is a flight,
not a drive.
Around twenty-two hours by road, most of it through country where a breakdown is a genuine problem. The nonstop from Phoenix into Sea-Tac is about two and three-quarter hours, which makes Washington one of the easier long-distance states to reach from here.
Sea-Tac covers everything west of the Cascades. For Spokane and the east of the state, fly into Spokane instead: the mountains make the drive across far longer than the map suggests, and in winter they can close it outright.

Three ways a puppy
reaches Washington.
Into Spokane for the east
Fewer flights, but it saves a long mountain drive. For anyone from the Tri-Cities eastward this is almost always the shorter and safer day.
Ground transport
Two to three days by road with updates along the way. It is a long haul on this route, so we would usually steer you towards a flight unless there is a reason not to.

What catches
Washington families out?
The ferries. If getting home means a sailing, tell us before anything is booked. A puppy sitting in a car in a ferry queue for two hours is a worse afternoon than a slightly later flight, and we would rather work backwards from the boat than from the plane.
The Cascades are the other one. Snoqualmie and Stevens can close with very little warning between November and March, so an east-side family flying into Sea-Tac to save a few dollars can end up stuck on the wrong side of the state. Spokane exists for a reason.
And the rain is a real consideration for house training, not a joke. Have somewhere sheltered for the first few weeks, because a puppy who decides outside is unpleasant will hold on and then go indoors.
Settling in
What are the first
few days like?
Your puppy is coming from desert air to somewhere considerably damper, and the main thing they notice is the cold rather than the wet. Warm the car before the handover, especially from October onwards, and keep the first few outings short.
Keep them on the same food for a week or two. Between the flight, new water and a new house there is enough changing already without the diet joining in.
