From Casa Grande to Ohio
How a puppy gets
to Ohio.
Our puppies are raised in Casa Grande, about an hour from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX). For Ohio families the usual airports are Columbus (CMH), Cleveland (CLE) and Cincinnati (CVG). A nonstop flight from Phoenix takes about three and three-quarter hours. By road it is about twenty-eight hours to Columbus.
Ohio has three good airports with nonstop service from Phoenix, so most families can meet the flight within an hour or two of home: Columbus for central Ohio, Cleveland for the north and northeast, and Cincinnati for the southwest.
Winter storms off Lake Erie can make northern Ohio roads slow, so we aim for daylight arrivals in the colder months.

Settling in
What happens in
the first week?
The flight is short enough that most Ohio puppies arrive bright rather than flattened, which catches people out in the other direction: they are ready to play before you have unpacked. Let them, in short bursts, then put them somewhere quiet before they get overtired.
Same food for the first week or two. If you want to change it, change it slowly once everything else has settled, and not in the same week as the journey.
