We raise our puppies in Casa Grande, Arizona. Missouri is one of the closer eastern states to reach from here. Every puppy is $850, with travel quoted separately once a puppy is reserved.
The honest answer
Which airport,
Kansas City or St. Louis?
Missouri is the state where this question actually matters, because the two airports sit at opposite ends of it and there are four hours of driving in between. Kansas City is about two and three-quarter hours from Phoenix, St. Louis about three.
The rule of thumb is simple enough: west of Columbia, fly into Kansas City; east of it, fly into St. Louis. Springfield and the south west are their own case and worth asking about, because either can be the shorter day depending on the schedule.

Three ways a puppy
reaches Missouri.
Ground transport
Two to three days by road with updates along the way. Missouri is close enough that this is a genuine option here rather than a last resort.
Meeting part way
A few Missouri families have driven west and met us partway across New Mexico. It is a long day but it keeps the puppy in your own car, and we are happy to discuss it.

What catches
Missouri families out?
Booking the wrong end of the state. It sounds obvious and it happens anyway, usually because one fare was cheaper. Four hours on I-70 with a puppy who wants out of the crate erases any saving very quickly.
Summer humidity is the second. July and August in Missouri are heavy in a way the Arizona desert is not, so we book early flights, keep the handover brief and ask that the car is cooled before you set off.
And storms in spring. Missouri gets genuine severe weather in April and May, and if a line of it is moving through on travel day we will move the date. The puppy stays with us at no cost until there is a clear morning.
Settling in
What happens once
you get them home?
Short flight, so most Missouri puppies arrive with energy left. Let them out in one room rather than the whole house, offer water straight away and food once you are settled.
Keep the diet identical for the first week or two. If you came by ground transport they will already have had two or three days of gentle travel and usually arrive hungry and remarkably calm.
