Our puppies are raised in Casa Grande, about an hour from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX). For Wisconsin families the usual airports are Milwaukee (MKE) and Madison (MSN), with Chicago (ORD) and Minneapolis (MSP) as options near the state lines. A nonstop flight from Phoenix takes about three and a half hours to Milwaukee. By road it is about twenty-six hours to Milwaukee.
Southeast Wisconsin families usually meet the flight in Milwaukee. Madison has fewer nonstop options, and families in western Wisconsin often find Minneapolis-St. Paul the easiest airport.

What are the first
few days like?
Milwaukee is a short enough flight that most puppies arrive alert. Warm the car first in winter, keep the crate out of the wind between the terminal and the boot, and save the introductions for indoors.
Same food for the first week or two, and a small space rather than the run of the house. If you drove down from Madison to meet the flight, the ninety minutes home is usually when they fall asleep for the first time.
