From Casa Grande to Colorado
How a puppy gets
to Colorado.
Our puppies are raised in Casa Grande, about an hour from Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX). For Colorado families the usual airports are Denver (DEN) and Colorado Springs (COS). A nonstop flight from Phoenix takes about an hour and forty-five minutes. By road it is about thirteen hours to Denver, most of it through northern Arizona and New Mexico.
Denver is one of the busiest routes out of Phoenix, with nonstop flights through the day, so a flight nanny handoff at DEN is usually simple to arrange. Front Range families from Fort Collins to Pueblo usually meet the flight in Denver; Colorado Springs has fewer nonstop options.
Winter storms on I-25 and in northern New Mexico can close roads, so we steer Colorado winter placements toward a flight. At altitude, give your puppy a quiet first few days and plenty of fresh water.

What are the first
few days like?
Altitude is the one difference here, and it is a small one. Your puppy is coming from four and a half thousand feet in Arizona to five thousand in Denver, so there is nothing dramatic to manage. Keep water where they can always reach it and expect a little extra sleeping.
Hold the food steady for the first week or two, and if you are up in the mountains give them a few days at home before any long walk. A Corgi puppy will happily overdo it on a trail and pay for it that evening.
